Start your career as a Paramedic in a challenging and rewarding programme developed in partnership with South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT). If you’re looking for an exhilarating and rewarding career as a Paramedic working at the frontline of healthcare, our Paramedic Science degree will equip you with the tools and experience you need to be successful.
You’ll not only develop essential academic and practical abilities, but will also gain wide experience and knowledge of a variety of contemporary healthcare contexts, as you prepare. The course is fully approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) which enables graduates to apply for HCPC registration as a paramedic.
We developed our curriculum in partnership with key Gloucestershire healthcare organisations and service users – making sure to include the right mix of classroom and experiential learning. You’ll build both your medical knowledge and patient care experience, preparing you to make life-saving interventions in unpredictable and pressurised situations and environments.
You’ll use ultra-realistic Lifecast body simulation manikins, helping to prepare you for both the emotional and physical challenges you’ll face in treating patients of all ages. We’re the first UK university paramedic programme with a SynDaver anatomy model – allowing you to familiarise yourself with the look and feel of live human tissues and organs as you work with the most accurate and lifelike synthetic replication of human anatomy available.
We’re also one of only a few UK courses to use the state-of-the-art iSimulate Realiti defibrillator and ECG simulation systems in combination with Video Enhanced Observation (VEO).
