Course Overview

This course provides a wide range of employment opportunities for graduates which include fisheries management, aquaculture, environmental consultancy, impact assessment, marine resource survey, climatology, informatics and computing, renewable energy, and global information services (GIS). The field also has important applications in wildlife conservation, natural history documentation, and ecosystem services.

We provide access to part-time jobs, and extra-curricular employability-enhancing workshops and offer practical one-to-one help with career planning, including help with CVs, applications, and mock interviews. We also deliver group sessions on career planning within each course and we have a wide range of extensive information covering graduate jobs and postgraduate study.

Students and graduates of the University of Chester can use our services free of charge for up to two years after graduating.

General Eligibility

Applicants should normally have one of the following:

An Honours degree (minimum 2:1) containing a significant content of marine/ecological/behavioral/biological science or a relevant postgraduate qualification

Substantial relevant work experience, together with evidence of recent study or writing at an appropriate level

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.

  • IELTS Academic: 6.5 (no less than 5.5 in any band)
