BA (Hons) Product Design

The BA (Hons) Product Design course at Buckinghamshire New University provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the design process, from conceptualization to prototyping and production. Every product began as an idea. In this course, youll take your ideas through a journey towards completion. Craft sleek products from scratch, taking them from scale drawings to the final prototype. Youll have the freedom to create original products without anything holding you back. Product design is more than vibrant colors and sensual designs. Its about innovative concepts that have an impact on the world. Embrace the creative side of design. Youll use a range of industry-standard 3D CAD and CAD/CAM systems, and some fantastic workshop facilities to produce 3D models, fully working prototypes, computer models, and animations. Explore different solutions for a number of areas, working with real clients as you use your expertise to create products with a purpose. Product design skills can equip you to work in areas such as special effects, medical equipment design, games environment design, technical illustration, model making, and architectural visualization. Part of the role includes working with clients and getting to understand exactly what they want as an end product.

A typical offer will include GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above and a UCAS Tariff score between 80 - 104 points. A minimum of two full A-levels (or equivalent) is required. Every application is considered on an individual basis.
