During the course, you will learn how to encourage young people’s understanding of History through your subject specialism.
The course is intended to produce Secondary History teachers who are reflective practitioners and who will be:
enthusiastic and confident in the classroom
pedagogically skillful and adaptable
specialists in the teaching of history
aware of how young people learn the history
able to see their subject in the context of the whole curriculum
competent in a number of areas that cross Secondary school curriculum boundaries and see History in the wider context, contributing to pupils' personal, social, moral, spiritual, and cultural development
able to work as part of a team.

Students and graduates of the University of Chester can use our services free of charge for up to two years after graduating.
Applicants will normally:
hold or be expected to gain a minimum 2:1 honors degree
have GCSE grade C/grade 4 or above in English Language and Maths.
20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
