The BA (Hons) Contemporary Music, Performance, and Production course has been developed to include a number of interrelated, core themes of study. We believe these will enable graduates to be best prepared for work in a huge number of roles within the music industry and beyond and will help students to develop high academic standards.
GCSE Maths and English language at grade C/4 and one of the following: • 64 points at A2 or equivalent, (e.g BTEC Extended Diploma), preferably to include music, music technology, or other music-related subjects. • Recent study of relevant Access/Foundation course, with the audition. • Applicants are invited to attend an audition and submit a portfolio. The portfolio can take the form of web links to both composition and performance work. These are both diagnostic tools to help inform the application process. • Applicants with appropriate life experience but without the standard entry requirements are encouraged to apply and will be considered on their individual merits, based on the interview and completed application. • Alternatively, applicants may be able to gain entry to Level 4 or advanced entry to Level 5 based on the evidence of other qualifications or learning. In this case, Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) or Accreditation of Prior Certified Learning (APCL) may be possible.
