BA(Hons) Sustainable Tourism Management

... Falmouth University

Course Overview

Combining the expertise of our Cornwall Business School with the ideas of the pioneering Eden Project, this degree offers a unique approach to tourism practice with sustainability at its core. In this course, you’ll explore the future of sustainable tourism management with a focus on understanding and managing tourism's economic, social and environmental impacts.

Through real-world projects, you’ll learn how to balance the needs of a business with the requirements of sustainable practice, minimising the sector’s impact on delicate environmental and social ecosystems while also developing successful commercial and marketing strategies.

You will:

  • Have the chance to work on a live project at an international tourism destination, with your travel and accommodation expenses (up to a value of £400) funded as part of the course

  • Study on a system that both A Greener Festival and Attitude accredit is Everything

  • Develop a sustainable approach to management in the globally expanding tourism industry

  • Explore the moral and political pressures of tourism and how to manage them sustainably
